To celebrate the first fifty years of its history, Maxalto has invited Dutch artist Patrick van Riemsdijk to add his calligraphic-style touch to the dormeuse Lilium in a limited edition of fifty. Numbered and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, each piece is upholstered in a custom fabric that reproduces the artist’s distinctive trademark style. Juma visited the artist’s studio in Palma de Mallorca to document the creation of these unique pieces and to narrate the timeless dialogue between art and design, talent and skill, form and function.
